2019 Ram 1500 For Sale
The 2019 Ram 1500 has a completely new design and is available in a wide variety of trim levels such as Laramie, Longhorn, Tradesman, and Rebel.
The 2019 Ram 1500 uses a chassis that weighs 120 pounds less than the previous model. It has a maximum payload of 2,300 pounds and maximum trailer tow capacity of 12,750 pounds. This is the strongest Ram 1500 frame ever produced and it is made from 98 percent high-strength steel. Besides the lighter weight frame, weight reduction is used in several other parts such as lightweight composite upper control arms, aluminum lower control arms, engine mounts, front axle center section, front suspension crossmember, transmission crossmember, steering system gear, and a new aluminum tailgate.
The 2019 Ram 1500 has a smoother ride and a quieter interior thank to frequency response damping shocks, an interior active noise cancellation system on 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 equipped models which reduces the sounds down to a low 67.1 db, which results in the quietest Ram 1500 ever. The rear cross members are double sheer welded to the inside and outside of the frame for improved durability and roll stiffness.
The 2019 Ram 1500 fuel economy is improved with the help of an active grille shutter system, which automatically closes the airflow through the front grille at highway speeds. This reduces the aerodynamic drag and allows the Ram to use less fuel. There is an optional air suspension system that lowers the Ram 0.6 inches towards the ground which also reduces drag and increases fuel economy.
The 2019 Ram 1500 has a choice of engines and transmissions:
The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 is the standard engine in most trim levels of the 2019 Ram 1500. It was designed for truck duty and it has 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque. It has a wide-range variable valve timing and two-step variable valve lift, which give you the power you need to haul and tow and the fuel economy that you expect.
The 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 pumps out 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is so smooth and powerful, you can tap into that power at almost any RPM point. It also has high tech fuel economy technology that include variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation. When this is activated, the engine control computer turns off fuel and spark, and closes the intake and exhaust valves on half of the engine’s cylinders during light loads or when at cruise on the highway. The variable camshaft timing helps maximize fuel economy.
The HEMI V-8 in the 2019 Ram 1500 uses a new 850-watt electric cooling fan that uses Pulse Width Modulation which eliminates the old school fan blade and it helps improve fuel economy by reducing drag or a pull on the engine.
The 2019 Ram 1500 is equipped with a fully electronic TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. By having 8 speeds, you can always have the engine matched up with the right gear for most efficient use. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 is matched up to a TorqueFlite 850RE transmission. The 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 is matched up to a stronger TorqueFlite 8HP75 transmission. Both transmissions use the latest technology of computer controllers. There are more than 40 unique shift maps that are based on loads and usage which create shifts for improved fuel economy, towing and hauling.
The 2019 Ram 1500 gets improved fuel economy by using an eTorque mild hybrid system on the 3.6-liter V-6 and the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engines. The eTorque system uses a belt-drive motor generator unit with 48 volt battery pack to enable start/stop function at stop lights, and a short-term torque assist and brake energy regeneration technique to recharge the battery pack. The eTorque system adds up to 90 lb.-ft. of torque to the 3.6-liter V-6 and up to 130 lb.-ft. to the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 for improved around town use and fuel economy. There is a heat exchanger system that warms lubricants, and maximizes engine and transmission efficiency during the warm-up periods.
The 2019 Ram 1500 has a new TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers improved efficiency from both the transmissions and the engines with more powerful control computers. There is a new electronic locking rear differential that is standard on the 4 wheel drive off-road package and the Rebel. This new rear end is an extra cost option on the other Ram models. The 2 wheel drive models powered by the 5.7 liter HEMI engine can get the optional Max Tow Package which allows towing of up to 12,750 pounds with an optional 3.92 final drive ratio. The Max Tow Package has a Dana Super 60 center section in the rear axle and an open differential with a 256-millimeter gear set which uses 35-spline axle shafts.
Ram is available in an Off-Road Package or Quad Cab:
The 2019 Ram 1500 has a 4 wheel drive Off-road Package for almost every trim level. The off road package has a one-inch suspension lift, and you can get it with or without the extra cost four corner air suspension. It has a rear differential that locks electronically and it rolls on 32-inch all terrain tires with 18 inch wheels or extra cost 20 inch wheels that create extra grip for those difficult situations. The trails are handled quite easily thanks to Hill-descent Control, an off-road-biased rear suspension geometry which is on the Rebel and 4×4 Off-road Package, and some specially calibrated off-road shocks. The off road package also contains skid plates for the transfer case, steering, engine and gas tank. You even have tow hooks if you get yourself into trouble.
The 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel is available in Quad Cab configurations and it features new 18-inch aluminum wheels with 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires. Traction is maximized with the help of an electronic-locking rear differential. The 2019 Rebel comes with a coil spring suspension and a one-inch factory lift. Air suspension is still an extra cost option. The Bilstein shocks have remote reservoirs to replenish the shocks when needed and they keep the shocks cool and work with the unique rear suspension geometry of the Rebel and 4×4 Off-road Package.
